Willie E. Gamble

Willie Earl Gamblelovingly called 'Gamble' was born onFebruary 4^th, 1938 to Claude Gamble & Lucy 'Holly' Williams, bothwho preceded him in death. He was raisedas a child by his loving great-grandparents, Walter & Mahalia Holly inClinton, Mississippi where he accepted Christ at an early age. As a teenager hemoved to Hammond, IN to live with his parents where he attended Hammond PublicSchools. He relocated to Indianapolis,IN where he married Tina 'Wyatt' Gamble. To this union three loving children were born. Willena, Jacquelin, and ason who passed away during child birth. Tina preceded him in death and he raised his two daughters on his own. On December 21^st, 1985 he married thelove of his life, Rosalind Turner.

Willie was ourfamily historian! Family was everythingto him. He treasured spending time withus and telling stories, and we loved listening. We would talk on the phone hours on end about his life. We all heard the story about how he planted aCotton Farm in Mississippi and finally got our family out of debt. We all have benefited from this greatdeed.

Willie wasemployed with Ford Motor Company and retired after 31 years. Before and during his retirement he wasalways active, taking daily walks, hunting, gardening, cooking, andtraveling. He would travel to Mississippi everysummer. He called it 'My meditationtime with the Lord.' He cherished hisfriends, dogs, grass, flowers, and garden. They had 'THE BEST' looking yard inHaughville USA! He was our role model and our hero here onearth! We all will deeply miss 'Papa' in our own way and for our ownspecial reasons.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife of31 years Rosalind 'Turner' Gamble, daughter, Jacquelin 'Gamble' Johnson, Son inLaw: Anthony J. Johnson Sr. Sisters:Brenda (Delores) Holmes of Houston, Texas, Renee Yarber of Dallas, Texas,Sheila Gamble, Yolanda (Keith) Irvin, Kim Gamble. Brothers: Keith Gamble, Brian (Ruthie)Gamble all of Chicago IL, George (Charlotte) Williams of Merriville, IN. A special daughter Mahalia 'Francis' Robinson. Grandchildren:Willie D. Gamble, Anthony J. Johnson Jr., Christian Hooten, Christopher Hooten,Angelamarie O. Johnson, Darrius Hooten, Tina Marie Hooten. Great grandson: Willie Gamble Jr. Brother In Laws: Roger (Brenda)Turner, Reginald Turner. Sister InLaws: Regina White, Lenora (Robert) Rose, Gladys (Carl) Webster, JudithCovington. Adopted daughter in Law:Beverlee R. Preston. Special cousin:Eddie Davis of Long Beach, CA. And ahost of, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
