MR. WILLIE C. BOOKER, son of the late Robert Lee Booker and Josie Booker, was born on June 8, 1951 in Greenwood Mississippi.
WILLIE professed a faith in Christ at an early age and attended Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.
WILLIE attended Arsenal Technical High School where he excelled as a star in basketball. His passion and perseverance earned him multiple scholarships. One of those scholarships was to attend Indiana State University 1970.
WILLIE was unable to pursue the sport of basketball he loved so much because he was drafted into the United States Army to serve his country and he did so proudly.
After his discharge from the Armed Forces, Willie returned home and joined the work force. He was employed at Richardson’s Rubber Company, located in Indianapolis for over 20 plus years before his retirement.
WILLIE was joined in holy matrimony to Barbette Cox April 24, 1987. They shared over 35 years together.
WILLIE loved the sport of professional and college basketball and football. He was passionate about one of his favorite teams “Indianapolis Colts” and did not want to be interrupted while they were playing. He enjoyed watching those games with two of his closest friends Bob and DJ. He also enjoyed preparing steak dinner for his wife because he always knew she would enjoy it.
MR. WILLIE C. BOOKER departed this earthly life on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the age of 69. His father, Robert Lee Booker; mother, Josie Booker; brother, Robert Booker Jr. proceeded him in death.
