Mrs. Willie Beatrice (Jones) Buchanan

November 6, 1920 — October 21, 2018

Willie B. Buchanan was born November 6, 1920 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to Willie and Beatrice Jones. At the young age of 14, Willie gave her life to God.

At the age of 18 she united in Holy Matrimony to Minister Robert L. Buchanan and to this union nine children were born.

In 1952 Willie moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she continued her work in the Church of God In Christ. As a Pastor's wife, she would visit members of the church as well as pray for the sick. She also served as the District Youth Leader and Missionary.

Later, she with her husband joined the Church of God of Prophecy where she served as Pastor's wife and Co-Pastor and Special Guest Speaker at many churches and events. Mom served in every position with excellence, faithfully and honored that God has entrusted that position to her.

Mother Buchanan taught her children to face the challenges life brings. By putting God first and trusting in HIM there is nothing we cannot do.

Minister Willie B. Buchanan departed this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Her beloved husband, Rev. Robert L. Buchanan Sr.; daughters: Minister Cora B. Buchanan, Austin and Lennie V. Buchanan; and sons, Elder Robert L. Buchanan Jr. and Rev. Linzy Buchanan all preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her children: Ann L. Buchanan, Ora Brewer (Raymond), Rev. Willie R. Floyd (Timothy), Lottie M. Brown of Georgia and Timothy Buchanan; thirteen grandchildren, several great- and great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
