William T. Wheeler

William Thomas Wheeler was born December 28th1915 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to Mr. Buster Wheeler and Ms. Mary Webster. William attended Mississippi Public school (Bell Chapel), but like most young menin the south William at the early age of 16 left to search for work. Leaving his home in Mississippi William movedto Chicago Illinois where he found work at International HarvesterManufacturing. After 5 years of employment,Harvester Manufacturing experienced a reduction in work force and William foundhimself without work. William than move to Boston Massachusetts, after a briefstay in Boston, William returned to Chicago Illinois where lived and workeduntil moving to Indianapolis Indiana in1950. After moving to Indianapolis, William united with the Mount VernonBaptist Church under the Pastoral Leadership of the Late Dr. Mozel Sanders.

In Indianapolis William was employed with Robert LongHospital currently known as 'IU Hospital'. While working at the hospitalWilliam met and in 1952 married Mary Young and to the union seven children wereborn four proceeded William and Mary in death. William was later employed byFMC -Link Belt until his retirement in (year).

William was a veteran of the Second World War and receivedan honorable discharge. William was a member of the Elks Lodge and AmericanLegion post #249. William also served as treasurer for the 'Black CatMotorcycle' Club. William affectionately known to his children as 'DADDY' enjoyed many activities and lived life on his terms he was a man of principalbut always respectable of others. Always reminding his children to never letlife burden you! 'Always Play the HandYou're Dealt'!!!!

William Thomas Wheeler departed this Life September 28th2016 at the Northwest Health Care Facility. William leaves to cherish hismemory, Son: Marshall Anthony Wheeler Sr. (Theresa), Daughters: Bettie LouiseWheeler, Shirley Ann Wheeler, and Daisy Moore all of Indianapolis Indiana. Tengrandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, several great, great grandchildren. Sister in law Mrs. .Ruth Jackson of SouthBend In. Special Niece Mrs. Sharon Franklin of Apple Valley Ca. and a host ofother family and friends.
