Victor LaMar Smith

Victor LaMar Smith was born Monday, June 1, 1981 in Indianapolis Indiana to Blair Duncan-Brownie and Floyd Cunningham. He grew up with two sisters and two brothers on the eastside of Indianapolis.

Victor attended Indianapolis Public Schools where he was a student athlete and a wrestling champ. He received his cosmetology license in 2011 from Kaye’s Beauty College.

Recently, Victor attended Sunday service at New Direction Church, where he confessed his faith and gave his life to the Lord.

Victor was an amazing person. He loved his family and greatly enjoyed spending time with them. He also loved cutting hair and was one of the best barbers on the eastside. Victor was also a forklift driver and enjoyed working in a warehouse being social.

Victor was little, but you could not tell him that, he had the heart of a giant. He was devoted to his family and making sure everyone was ok. Victor was everyone’s daddy and would often put others before himself. He offered his wisdom, support, and advice to everyone, even if no one asked for it. As a friend to many, he was a cherished member of every community that he lived in, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. Victor loved music and played many instruments including the piano and the clarinet. He also loved to travel and eat; and thought he was the best griller.

Victor LaMar Smith departed this life on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the age of 43 years old. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leroy Smith; paternal grandmother, Alberta Cunningham; great-grandmother, Callie Moore; and great-aunt, Layshelle Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his mother, Blair Duncan-Brownie (Mark); father, William J. Duncan; sisters; Jasmin Smith and Dionna Dowdell; brothers, Jay Duncan, Delazarus Duncan, David Gibson and Johnny Gibson Jr.; nephews, Cornelius White and Robert Shorter Jr.; nieces, Peyton Shorter and Riley Page; grandparents, Shirley and Johnny Gibson; life partner, Bobbi Jean Smith; step-children: Jennae Moore, Darryl and Darrian Rowie; step-grandchildren: Evyn, Eyn, and Cartier; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, loving family, church members, and friends.
