Verbeihna Electa Lucas Rogers was born July 24, 1927 to Arthur and Juanita Lucas in North Buxton Ontario Canada. She was the fifth of seven sisters. The girls grew up healthy, happy, loved and never in need. They were athletic, excelling in; softball, ice skating, bicycling, tree climbing & walking. They also had a knack for gardening and talking. Observing the seven gathered in a huddle; Cousin Bobby asked, 'How does one know what the others are saying?' :)
Verbeihna and her sisters all attended North Buxton Baptist Church and were well educated at School Section #13 Raleigh aka (ss#13 Raleigh). They grew up to be very beautiful, God fearing, sweet, lovey, accomplished women.
At a young age Verbeihna immigrated to the United States, specifically, Michigan. Eventually she traveled to West Virginia where she met and married Clyde Lee Rogers, Jr. in 1950. To this union a son, Clyde Lee Rogers, III was born. Aside from Jesus Christ, they were the loves of her life.
The Rogers moved to Indiana and joined Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly, where they are still members.
Verbeihna worked in various nursing positions for decades, her husband worked for the sheriff's department, son joined the Air Force and attended college. Along with work; The Roger's enjoyed the housing boom, moving up several times with each new purchase. A lot of moving that they mastered with ease and grace. Finally, happily settling onto Tucker Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Retirement didn't come easy from what then was the 2nd largest Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Not because Verbeihna loved being busy and moving about so quickly, but because Verbeihna was no stranger to DRAMA. Verbeihna famously retired at an appropriate age, but unbeknownst to her employer; she was in truth 10 years older than she appeared in person and on paper. Soon all was sorted out and retirement was on!
Verbeihna loved reading and studying the 91st Psalm. She loves our Lord Jesus Christ. She loved taking care of her family and her home. Her outings in later years consisted of occasional trips to the in-laws, Church, shopping and hosting out of town relatives. She enjoyed television; Joel Osteen & other TV ministries, cooking shows and can you believe it?, The Kardashians! But her favorite pastime was reading the Bible.
