TOMMIE LEE JONES was born into a loving and hardworking family on April 16, 1942, in Lake Cormorant Miss. to the late Ernest Jones and Lou Ollie Jones.

Tommie accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior during his early years at New Vine Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C Hamilton in Memphis TN.

Tommie Graduated from Geeter High School in 1959 in Memphis, TN. When he decided to leave Memphis and head to Columbus OH. with his Uncle Mack Douglas Bush to learn the trade of becoming a brick mason. Tommie stayed in Columbus OH. for many years doing construction and brick mason jobs. Tommie decided to branch out on his own after they had done a few jobs in Indianapolis IN. and decided to make Indianapolis IN his home in the early 70's. Tommie's surviving sister (Ernestine Fleming) said she guess he changed his name in Indy to "Tyrone" for the ladies!

Tommie started his own construction company named "Jones Construction" he had guys help him lay bricks for high dollar homes, commercial work and odd jobs throughout Indianapolis and surrounding areas.

Tommie was a very funny guy. Tommie also enjoyed playing baseball throughout his years and he had a very high interest in sports overall. he could sit and watch sports all day! Tommie had a nickname for everyone he didn't care who you were. If your name was Barbara, he was calling you Shirley and if you knew him you would just answer and laugh.

Tommie leaves behind his significant other, Monique Moore; two sons, Tyrone Travis & Dexter Jones; three daughters in love, Sha'Von, Sherezz and Shalana Moore; sister, Ernestine Fleming; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one grand dog; mother-in-law, Nana Joyce C. Higgins; and a host of family and friends.
