Tommie Lee Echols "Tom Cat"

TOMMIE LEE ECHOLS, the eldest of four children, was born October 4, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Eugene Echols and Willa B. Rollins Somerville.

He attended Indianapolis Public School #37 and Arsenal Technical High School.

Tommie furthered his education by training as a laborer for Somerville Construction. Due to health issues, he retired early and later received a certificate of ordination in the state of Georgia in the year of 2006.

He was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost at the New Day Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Bishop Artie Montgomery Jr.

Tommie was married to Rosalyn Primm Echols for several years. They later divorced and he remained single until his passing.

He loved the Lord and was constantly carrying the message out into the highways and hedges. He carried that message everywhere he went and to everyone that would listen.

Tommie leaves to cherish in his memory: son, De Juan Echoles; stepchildren, Sherell and Tony; mother, Willa Somerville; stepfather, Homer Somerville; brother, Rev. Ronald Williams Jr. (Tonya); sisters, Santoria Spight (Derrick) and Denise Somerville; three aunts; two uncles; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
