Thurman 'John' Birdsong

Mr. Thurman 'John' Birdsong, age 87, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016.

Thurman 'John' was born in Pulaski, Tennessee to his proud parents, Mitchell and Mattie (Jones) Birdsong. He attended Bridgforth High School where he was on the football team..

Thurman and Gertrude (Robertson) were united in holy matrimony in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Thurman retired from Seven-Eleven Supermarket as a butcher after 40 years of employment. After his retirement, Thurman enjoyed spending time with friends and family, watching his grandchildren grow up, cooking for the holidays, and being a personal alarm clock and family gardener when needed.

Thurman was baptized and became a faithful and devoted servant of God at Forest Manor United Methodist Church in Indianapolis until his death.

Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6th from10am until service time of 1 pm at Forest Manor United Methodist Church, 4062 E. 34th Street.

Interment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery
