Thomas Majors

Thomas Anthony Majors the son of Howard Majors Sr., and Edythe Majors-Tanner, was born August 24th, 1962 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Thomas was affectionately known as “Tony” by his family and friends. He attended John Marshall High School where he received his high school diploma and played on the basketball team for 3 years. Growing up he was also a member of the music department in school where he played the saxophone. After high school, Tony joined the United States Army where he worked as a Heavy Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. While in the service, Tony was a member of the 101st Airborne Air Assault division and received awards such as distinguished honors for his service at Fort Campbell, the Overseas Ribbon, and Expert Marksmanship Award. Tony’s dedication to the service led to his most recent relocation and employment at the Dayton Department of Veterans Affairs where he worked as an Environmental Services Supervisor and his memory will be greatly cherished by the entire staff.

Tony can be infinitely and remotely described as kind, loving, quick-witted and quite the comedian, as he loved to joke around with family and friends. In his free time, he enjoyed watching sports, bowling, and spending time with family. One of Tony’s greatest memories is his pristine appearance as you would never see him without creases in his pants or a wrinkle in his shirt. Tony was currently enrolled as a student at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio where he was pursuing his degree in Business Management.

Tony leaves to carry on his legacy, his sons, Thomas Anthony Majors Jr., Eric Anthony Majors, daughter, Morgan Marie Majors, his dedicated mother Edythe Tanner- Majors, his brothers Jeffrey Majors (Mary), Howard “Sonny” Majors who preceded him in death (Estrella), his dear and loving sister Cheryl Majors, former spouse Montinike Hobbs (mother of Morgan & Eric), God-father Robert Johnson, and a host of friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins that were close as brothers and sisters.
