Mr. Thomas Fred Alexander, age 72, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016.
Thomas was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Thomas L. and Annie Mae Alexander. He graduated from Crispus Attucks High School and attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.
Thomas was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam and received an Honorable Discharge. He went to work at Jenn Air then on to Chrysler Foundry. He decided he would pursue a career with Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, and stayed for 40 years. He retired in August, 2005. After a short-lived retirement, he elected to take on a second career an for 8 years was employed by Marion County Health Department as a Security Officer.
To know Thomas was to know a person with a heart of gold. He met no strangers and would give you the shirt off of his back. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Thomas Fred 'Sugar' leaves to cherish his memory: the love of his life, Anne (Ms. Anne); sons, Brandon, Damon (Telisa); step-daughter, Timia (Carlos) Carruthers; 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, Skylar; and aunt, Anna Adams and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Thomas Fred will be remembered for his love of people, passion for football and one who effortlessly showed his love and respect for anyone he met. To know 'Sugar' was to love him!
Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 23rd from 3 pm until Memorial Service time of 4 pm at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals, 5811 E.38th Street.
