Thomas E. Abel

Mr. Thomas E. Abel, age 73, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016. Thomas was born in Shawneetown, Illinois to the late Dorothy Robinson Abel. He was a graduate of Princeton High School in Princeton, Indiana. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Thomas retired from General Motors Allison after 30 years of employment. He loved dogs, basketball, music and was a lifelong Catholic.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Matella M. Bledsoe; brother, Otis P. Abel; close friends, Mr. Arnold and Mrs. Sylvia Smith; nephews, Lamond Bledsoe, Marcus Bledsoe, Kevin Abel, Keith Abel and Kendale Abel; nieces, Rosalind Bledsoe, Katrice Abel and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1st, 2016 from 10am until 11am at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals, 5811 E. 38th St. Funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
