Mrs. Thelma Louise (Linton) Porter, daughter of Lena Patterson and Walter Humphrey was born April 18, 1933. She has been a resident of Indianapolis, Indiana for over fifty years.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mount Bethel Apostolic Church.
She retired from the State of Indiana after twenty eight years of service.
She had a way of making you laugh and love to give God praise, although she could be a force you didn't want to tangle with. She loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter and granddaughter. Much of her life was devoted to raising her siblings, nieces, nephews and anyone needing help. She was a survivor.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Porter, mother and father, Lena Patterson and Walter Humphrey, sister Betty Joe Patterson and Dora Buckner, and brother, Albert Patterson Jr.
Thelma Porter was called to her heavenly home on January 27, 2018.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Montoya and granddaughter Donya Leshay, a nephew she raised as her own son, Anthony Boyce (Allison), two special sisters, Dora M. White Gladney (Robert), Laura J. Harris(Eli), brother, Wade Albert Hammer Jr.(Jeannette), sisters, Edna Hardin, Memphis , Tennessee and Mary Stiger (Joe), Memphis, Tennessee and a host of family, friends and love ones.
