Terri Ophelia Robinson was born on February 7, 1950, inIndianapolis Indiana. Terri, a high-spirited child, was the youngest born ofMary Lou (Brown) and Alvin Jackson. Terri graduated from Crispus Attucks HighSchool in 1968, and was joined in holy matrimony with Kenneth Robinson on July26, 1974.
Terri found Christ as a young woman, and was baptized inJesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1976. At that time, she also joined and became afaithful member of Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Faith Church. Terri foundtremendous joy in being involved with her church. Throughout the years, sheserved on several committees and organizations within the church, such as thechoir, Willing Workers Auxillary, Young Married Wives, Nurses' Guild, as wellas serving in the church food pantry. Many of her fellow church members becameclose friends, and were like family to Terri and her family throughout her manyyears at Zion Tabernacle.
Terri was a remarkable person who radiated energy and whotruly loved to be around people. She has always been known as the life of theparty. Her sincere joy and compassion for children, made her well-known forbeing a 'second mom' to many. Since she enjoyed being around and raisingchildren, Terri and her husband, Kenneth became foster parents in 1982.Throughout the years, they were beloved and well-regarded for helping to raisedozens of children within the foster care system.
Later in life, as a dedicated wife and mom, Terri decided tofurther her education. Terri gained a great deal of enjoyment from helpingothers, and this helped guide her decision to attain her nursing license from IndianaVocational Technical College, where she became an LPN in 1991. Throughout hercareer, she served as a nurse in many capacities including residentialhealthcare, nursing homes, and as a nurse in the Lawrence Township schoolsystem for special needs children.
Terri was a creative individual who had a knack for sewing,decorating, shopping, and travel. She was an excellent cook, and was well-lovedby all who knew her. Terri was a special woman who could brighten any room andmaking others laugh heartily. She truly enjoyed life, and had a personalitythat was one of a kind. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know her, indeed felta special connection and would hold many fond memories.
Sister Terri O. Robinson departed this life on Friday,December 30, 2016 at the age of 66 years, 10 months, and 23 days. She waspreceded in death by her parents, siblings: Donald Jackson; Alvina Fitch; TedJackson; and Carolyn Jackson, as well as daughters, Tamara K. Robinson andShannon R. Robinson. Terri leaves thefollowing to cherish her memory, sister, Lelola M. Thomas; a devoted husband of 42 years, Kenneth W.Robinson; daughter, Taja D. Robinson; son, Kelon C. Robinson (Corhen); daughterTerri M. Williams; granddaughter, Chasli M. Harris; grandson, Zamir O.Williams; great-granddaughter, Soraya R.D. Galbreath, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
