Sam Smith was born on October 7, 1948 to the union of Sam Smith and Rebecca Smith-Carr.
Sam attended public school in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended high school and college in Los Angeles. Sam was a multi-talented man with enough training and skill to accomplish any task. In his lifetime, Sam held various occupational positions, being a mechanic was one of his favorites. Sam was a soldier that served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Sam was united in matrimony to Dorothy Smith, who proceeded him in death. Also proceeding him in death are Sam Smith (father); Rebecca Smith-Carr (mother); brothers, Carl L. Smith, James A. Smith, Larry D. Smith, and Johnny L. Smith.
On July 28, 2021, Sam went home to be with the Lord.
Sam leaves to cherish his memories: Roxanne Smith (daughter) and Zoye D. Jackson (daughter-in-law); Kevin Bright (stepson); Celestine Smith-Varner and MaryAnn Smith-Barber (sisters); Jessica D. Smith (granddaughter); Malik D. Maltbia (grandson-in-law); Ke’Marley J. Smith aka Lil Moma (great-granddaughter); KeMaurion Smith (great-grandson) and Nuri L.S. Maltbia (great-granddaughter-in-law); Wesley D. Barber & Derrick Varner (special nephews); Ray Smith (special cousin); Three special friends; Rick, Armstrong, and Louise; A host of nieces, nephews, more relatives and friends.
