Rudeen Montgomery passed away Friday November 24, 2017 at 8pm in Indianapolis, IN.
Rudeen was born August 6, 1936 to the late Lezet and Lether Young in Crystal Springs, MS. She was married to Rogers W. Montgomery, Jr who has predeceased her.
Shortly after being married, she and her husband moved to Detroit, Michigan for a short time and then finally settled in Chicago, IL where she worked at General Motors.
She was the pioneer that led to a vast number of siblings, nieces and nephews who followed her and presently still reside in Chicago.
Even until her death all who knew Rudeen referred to her as the classiest of all classy ladies as she always took pride in how she presented herself and was known for her sense of fashion. And she was known to a natural sense of sarcasm and would make you laugh even when she put forth the smallest effort to do so.
Her loves were working in her garden and her burgundy Cadillac.
Rudeen is survived by one son, Rogers W., III (Memphis) and one daughter, Renear (Indianapolis) and three grandchildren Samuel(Christina), Joshua and Isaiah and then one great grandchild Madison who all live in Indianapolis.
She is also survived by 11 Siblings: Ruthshell, Karry(Tobey), Roy(Anna Bell), and Loretta(Robert) all of Chicago, Ruthie(Willis) of Indianapolis and Mary Helen, Ernest(Nora), Clara(George), Curtisene(Thomas), Bobby, John(Carolyn) all of Jackson, MS along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Rudeen had a visitation service for all who loved her on Wednesday November 29, 2017 and Lavenia and Summers Funeral Home 5810 E 38th St, in Indianapolis. You can share your words of comfort on their website www.laveniasummers.com .
Funeral service is Saturday December 2, 2017 at Mt. Wade MB Church 3752 Dry Grove Rd, Terry, MS 39170 at 2pm.
Rudeen touched all our lives in some manner. She was greatly loved and will always be fondly remembered.
