Ms. Ruby Nell Croom the daughter of the late Thomas and Ordean (Salton) Croom, born in Toone, Tennessee on October 11,1952. She was the baby girl out of sixteen siblings.
Ruby and her family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1957.She obtained her education through IPS school 26 and Arsenal Technical High School. She was a devoted, faithful member of ST. Luke Missionary Baptist church where she was an active member of the Senior Usher Board.
Ruby was known for being outgoing and out spoken, she was the person who said whatever she wanted with no filter. She was always “REAL” . She loved to party and be around her family, her presence was always known by her loud voice and laughter. She was known for her love of baby sitting, Christmas and scary movies.
Ruby was a devoted single mother of 3 sons. She was the “queen” of her 3 “Kings” . She was their “SHERO”, protector and provider. She had a unconditional love for her grandchildren, she honored and valued them and always made sure they knew she loved them. She was the grandmother who lived by what happens at granny’s stayed at granny’s. She shared a special bond with her nieces and nephew , especially Brenda and Beverly Cheshire who were more like her sisters .
Ms. Ruby Nell Croom was called home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2022 at 69 years, 10 months and 4 days. She is preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Ordean Croom, twin, Thomas Sell, and brothers; Levi, John, Roy, T.J., Arthur and Edward; sisters; Emogene Williams, Daisy McNeal and Frankie Barnett; grandchildren; Thomas Eugene Anderson and Justice Wills.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sons; John “Richie” Croom, Sherman “Hog” Croom(Dana), Eugene Anderson, Sr.(Desiree); 5 brothers, Jimmy(Judy)Croom of Cleveland, Ohio, Oliver(Cheryl)Croom, Ronnie(Ophelia)Croom and Tracey Croom of Indianapolis, IN, and Lonnie “Buck” Croom of Lawton, OK; Daughter/granddaughter, Briana Duncan; Brother-in-law, Robert Barnett; sister-in-laws, Evelyn,Sharon and Sara Croom; aunt, Lowell Thea of Tennessee; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
