Rosetta S. (Stott) Dixon

Rosetta S. (Stott) Dixon, age 82, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016.Rosetta was born in Henderson, KY and graduated from Douglas High School in 1952. In 1954, she moved to Indianapolis, IN and became employed with Western Electric, where she worked for 22 years, known as the 'Pepper Lady'. In 1954, Rosetta united in holy matrimony to Elmo Dixon and was married for 47 years. They had one son: Elery. They joined Christ Missionary Baptist Church in 1959 where she served on the Usher Board and Women's Missionary. She was a faithful member of the church and loved her pastor.Rosetta was known and admired for the show of crowns she placed on her head and she wore the crowns (hats) splendidly. She loved to dress and her outfits were always exquisite!!She loved serving her church, traveling, playing cards, dancing, feeding people and watching the Pacers 'win'. She was also an avid bowler.She met her loving companion, Napoleon 'Nate' Sledge at her 50th high school reunion, and their relationship has been a blessing for both of them for 15 years.Rosetta 'Cuz Rose' Stott Dixon is survived and will be greatly missed by her son, Elery, stepsons, Elmo (Kathy) Elwayne, Roger (Ann) Dixon; stepdaughters, Gwen (Gary) Jackson, Terrie (Frank) Collins; two grandchildren, Elliott and Brittany (Stephanie); one great granddaughter, Sophia Elaine; companion, Nate Sledge; other beloved family, neighbors, church family and friends.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20th from10am until 11am at Christ Missionary Baptist Church 1001 N. Eugene St. Funeral service will follow at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
