Mrs. Rose Marie (Carpenter) Wooden, daughter of the late Anna and Robert Carpenter was born August 23, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She received her high school education at Crispus Attucks from where she graduated class of 1948. Rose went on from high school to complete her college education at Indiana Central College with a Bachelor's of Science in Education in 1952. She went even further with her education to get her Masters of Science in 1962. Rose was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. since 1952 and even at the end of her life she continued to stay dedicated and committed to her sorority.
Rose was united in Holy Matrimony to Richard N. Wooden on May 29, 1954. Their union was blessed with two children, Pamela and Kyle.
She was highly dedicated to her profession of teaching with Indianapolis Public Schools for over 30 years of service.
Rose Marie Wooden departed this earthy life on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the age of eighty-six. Her husband, Richard N. Wooden and sister, Norma Freeman preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories to her two children, Pamela A. White and Kyle R. Wooden; two grandchildren, Anthony Childress and Jasmine White; great-grandson, Jalen Nicholas Childress; niece, Brenda Edwards; a host of lovely nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. We all will miss her dearly…….
God saw that she was ready, so he did what he thought best:
Quietly and gently closed Rose's eyes and to her Home to rest.
