Roberta Sargent Minor was born on July 21, 1919 in Jackson County, GA to Hal and Clara Sargent. Roberta who was the second born child and last surviving child of Hal and Clara Sargent. She was preceded in death by her four sisters and two brothers. She attended Indianapolis Public Schools and is a member of Antioch Missionary Church. Prior to retiring, Roberta was employed with Roberts Distribution of jewelry store for over 20 years.
Roberta was a very loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, relative and friend who will be remembered and cherished for her unconditional love she bestowed on so many. She was a very artistic and creative woman and who enjoyed giving discarded furniture new life restoring it in her unique style. She loved her colorful “knick knacks” which she proudly displayed throughout her home. She was a lover of all things beautiful which was reflected in the flowers in her garden and on her porch. Roberta celebrated 100 years of life on July 21. 2019 with a birthday party that was attended by many family and friends.
Roberta’s daughter Fay preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving daughter Brenda Vandever, her devoted son James Minor, grandchildren David, Charles, Damon, Shaun, Shannan, Jamietrice, Joycelyn, James Jr. and Ja’Dah Minor, and host of great-grand-children, four great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who all loved her.
