Robert A. Trabue

Robert Ashley Trabue, the moment that your mother and father, Charles and Juanita Trabue met you on November 23, 1976, you were their most precious creation, aside from your brother, Isaac Trabue, of course, that they would love forever.

Rob was raised alongside his brother, Isaac, within his beloved boundaries of 35th & Audubon Road, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Robert, would love his neighborhood fiercely, as he made lifelong relationships with his bonus brothers, Antonio Carter, Ivory and Jason McDonald, Tyrone Boykin, Michael McClure, Keith Woodson, Eric Wilson, and his cousin, George Trabue Jr.

Rob would graduate from Warren Central High School, class of 1995, as one of the most social and popular students. That popularity would not stop there. Rob, the philosophical, passionate, confident, flirtatious, blunt, man that he was, would go on to Indiana State University gaining additional lifelong relationships, including meeting and marrying his college sweetheart, LaQuita Thomas, though they would later divorce.

Rob, after thoughtful consideration and to provide for his family, would leave Indiana State University, to pursue other avenues of interest. Rob would be accepted into the Indianapolis Plumbers & Steam Fitters program, become a plumbing apprentice through G & W Plumbing, and gain managerial experience as a laborer. He would not stop there, Rob would be trained in Haz-Mat protection, OSHA, Confined space training & rescue, LOTO, TWIC, Full Face and Supplied Air respiration, forklift operation, and certified in small engine repair.

Rob would father five wonderful children: Antonio, Tylyn, Ashli, Alexandria and AydenRobert. Described by his children as illustrious, considerate, funny, “player” (depending on who is asking), strong, spontaneous, and a historian. While spending time with his children, Rob loved to talk about his experiences growing up, the neighborhood he grew up in, his friends, and his beliefs.

Rob loved his mother and father and did his best to care for both. Rob, according to his mother, loved his children dearly, loved spending time with them, and living his life to the fullest.

Rob was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, Ulysus and Ida Bell Bellamy, Haywood Trabue, and Odessa Gholston.

Rob would leave to cherish his mother and father, Juanita Trabue and Charles H. Trabue; children, Antonio Trabue, Tylyn Johnson, Ashli Trabue, Alexandria Trabue and AydenRobert Trabue; brother, Isaac Trabue; sisters: Kristi Bellamy, Faye Whitfield, and Sonya Grace; special friend, Lialah Kittrell; alongside an extremely full community of his close family and friends.

As the sun set on Rob, the man known for his love of the color red, Adidas, vintage cars and old school R&B music, it did not on our hearts. You may have taken your last breath on July 29, 2024, but your life will continue to live and breathe in the breath of your children, Antonio, Tylyn, Ashli, Alexandria and AydenRobert, as well as within the hearts and minds of those that loved you.
