Robert N. Manna

Robert Nathaniel Manna was born July 27, 1962 in Gary, Indiana to Carl and Allene (Johnson) Manna. He was the sixth child of seven.

Robert was baptized in the year of our Lord 1963 at St. Luke AME Zion. He received his education in the Gary Public School System where he graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1980. After graduation Robert joined the United States Marine Corp and after his Honorable discharge, he went to truck driving school and drove for Crest Trucking for many years. Robert also attended Lincoln Tech and could always be found working on someone’s car.

He was known as “Bob” to some of his friends and he had the type of personality that he never met a stranger. Some would think of him as being mean and contrary but deep down he was very kind hearted.

Robert went on to glory to meet the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the age of 60. His grandmother, Daisy Gibson; mother, Allene (Johnson); father, Carl Manna; and three siblings: Linda Gaines, Darnell Manna and Doncella Askew; and Aunt, Johnnie all preceded him in death.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his sisters:  Zandra Manna and Alberta Lewis (Robert)of Denver, CO; a brother Carl Manna; childhood friend, Marlon “Reecee” Marshall (Jeanette); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family and friends.
