Robert McCoy Sr., the son of Lee and Ruth (Martin) McCoy, was born on July 15, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on March 4, 2023 after a short illness.
He was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Mervo High School. Robert later attended Wesleyan University and received his bachelor’s degree in marketing.
After serving a 20-year military career in the United States Army, Robert became a Manager of Distribution and Operations working for the United States Postal Service from where he retired.
Robert met the love of his life, Harriet McCoy, with whom he spent over 53 years with and was married to for 49 years.
Rob, as he was well known as, enjoyed improving his pool skills, reading and most of all spending time with family. He was a loving husband, father, an inspiration and a great mentor to many people.
Robert McCoy Sr. departed this life on Saturday, March 4, 2023. His parents, Lee and Ruth McCoy; sisters, Bernadine Hardy and Linda McCoy; and brother, Jerry McCoy preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory to his loving wife, Harriet McCoy; sons, Jimmy McCoy and Robert McCoy Jr. (Patrena); daughter, Latonya McCoy (Gabriel); bonus son, Tayvon Robinson; grandchildren: LaKeisha McCoy, Jiamia McCoy, Jiamyl McCoy, Damon Franklin, Shanice McCoy, Joyous Shelton, Jairee McCoy, Deveon Jackson, Aniyla Hall and Chloe Hicks; ten great grandchildren; brother, Terry McCoy (Delcie); brother in-law, Joseph Manigo; sisters in-law: Elaine Stokes, Karen Manigo, Charlotte Manigo Bonds (Daryl), Rosemary Morgan (Ernest), Donna Manigo, Shirley Carroll and Arnetta Worthington; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
