Rev. Alonzo James, Jr

ALONZO JAMES, JR., son of Alonzo James, Sr. andAda James, was born June 24, 1934 in Itta Bena, Mississippi.
ALONZO received his education in the Morgan Mississippi School and completedthe ninth grade.
ALONZO later found his passion with painting cars and decided to open his ownbusiness called 'James & Sons Auto Body' which he operated until his death.
On May 8, 1956, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Martha Aliene Gregory andtogether they were blessed with seven children.
At an early age, Alonzo professed a hope in Christ and became a Reverend of hisown church called Hope Memorial Baptist Church located in Indianapolis,Indiana. He also pastored several other churches, the last being Believer's ofthe Word Church. He was a pastor for over 43 years.
ALONZO enjoyed spending time with his friends at McDonald's and White Castle,both located on East 38th Street.
ALONZO JAMES, JR. departed this life Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the age of82 years, 7 months, and 10 days. He was preceded in death by his parents,Alonzo James, Sr. and Ada James; wife, Martha A. James; siblings, Lillie Nixon,Millie Bingham, Johnny James, Willie James, Frank James, Ollie James, andJessie James.
ALONZO leaves to cherish his memory: five sons, Calvin James, Frank James,Antonio James, Timothy James Sr. (Timothy Jr. and Trikia), and Alonzo James III(Shauna); two daughters, Faith L. Kimbrough and Christy L. Jenkins (Keith Sr.);grandchildren, Noel, LaToya, Alonzo IV, Keith Jr., Cearra, Kayla, Enn, andBrandon; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Xander, and Corbin; brother, AlbertJames; sister, Otha Bell-Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relativesand friends.

A Visitation was held at Martindale Church of Christ 2402 Dr. Andrew J. Brown Ave Indianapolis IN 46205 at 10:00:00 AM on 2/11/2017.

A Funeral Service was held at Martindale Church of Christ 2402 Dr. Andrew J. Brown Ave Indianapolis IN 46205 at 12:00:00 PM on 2/11/2017.
