PHYLLIS C. WILLIAMS

Indianapolis - Phyllis C. Williams, age 88, of Indianapolis, Indiana, departed peacefully at her home on December 22, 2017.
Her passage to Heaven will be celebrated by many loved ones who predeceased her, including her former husband, William H. Woods, Sr.; her husband of 37 years, Lorand H. Williams; her father, William Hew; her mother, Florence McGhie; her daughter, Margo T. Woods; and five sisters.
Surviving her are three sisters, Amy Nesbeth, Sylvia Green, and Consie Chin of Jamaica, WI; three children, Stephen K. Woods, Esq., Patricia J. Woods, and Michael G. Woods; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many loving relatives and friends.
She was born in St. James Parish, Jamaica, BWI on April 1, 1929 and immigrated to the United States in 1950. She was a loving and doting mother to her children impressing upon them the importance of education. After raising her four children, she first gained employment at L.S. Ayres, was later employed by RCA, and retired from Noble Industries after over 25 years of service.
She was a devout Christian and a congregant of Our Savior Lutheran Church for over fifty years. Visitation will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Lavenia & Summers Home for Funerals. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church 261 West 25th Street, with visitation one hour prior to service.
