Peggy T. Mayes Lee Maclin

Mrs. Peggy T. Mayes Lee- Maclin, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.Peggy was born in Jackson, TN to the late Georgia Mayes Watson and Joe Watson.She graduated from Merry High School in Jackson and moved to Indianapolis where she earned a Licensed Practical Nursing Degree. She was employed at Central State Hospital and Larue Carter Hospitals of which she retired after over 40 years. She also worked at Goodwill Industries for a short while after her retirement.Peggy received Christ at an early age at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson and united with All Friends Missionary Baptist Church upon her relocation to Indianapolis, she remained a faithful member of All Friends until her health began to fail. She was a member of the Mother's Board, Pastor's Aid, and served as treasurer of the Missionary Committee, Willing Worker and the Women's Committee. She thoroughly enjoyed attending Sunday School and Bible Study.Peggy T. Mayes Lee-Maclin is survived by a loving and caring brother David 'Bobby' Mayes (Annie) of Indianapolis, two granddaughters, Jemila N'Doubinan of Concord, CA & Sidi N'Doubinan of Houston, TX, three great-grandchildren Jamal, Aston & Zariah N'Doubinan, two nephews David Mayes, II. (Wendy) of Indianapolis & Derrick Mayes (Gayle) of Los Angeles, CA, three great nephews David III, Malachi & Hudson Mayes, a favorite 'cousin-sister' Lula M. Nichols, goddaughter Lee Ann Hurd, close friends Faye Barton & June Sullivan and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 11am until 12 Noon at All Friends Missionary Baptist Church 2740 Kessler Blvd. N. Dr. Funeral service will follow at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Lincoln Memory Cemetery.
