December 19, 1962 — August 11, 2017

Sketch of Life

Mildley Taylor was born December 19,1962 in Camberwell, St. Mary in the island of Jamaica. He was born to Roy Taylor and Gloria Thompson Taylor. He was raised by his Grandmother Icilda Thompson and attended Camberwell Primary School.
When he was 12 years old he migrated, along with his sister Yvette (Rose) and their grandmother, to join his mother in the Unites States, in Indianapolis, IN. His mother Gloria later married Jules Baptiste (JB) who was 'Dad' to him and Rose, becoming a family of 4.
Mildley attended Edgar Evans Elementary School 11, then later attended Broad Ripple High School where he graduated in the class of 1981. He furthered his education at the ITT Technical Institute where he majored in Auto Mechanics. His hobbies were working on cars and listening to Reggae music. He was truly gifted in the field of auto mechanics; he could take a car apart and put it back together. Mildley also had a huge collection of Reggae Music, as he loved Caribbean artists. Mildley enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Holy Trinity Community Church was home to Mildley, under the leadership of the late Pastor Cordell Maynard and his wife, late First Lady Adelaide Maynard. It was during this time that Mildley married his neighborhood friend Candice Edmundson (divorced).
In 2004, Mildley became ill due to unknown circumstances. He was transferred to, and lived in, many different health facilities until his last place of residence at Forest Creek Village, where he lived for the remaining 3 years of his life.
The sun set on Mildley's life the evening of August 11, 2017 at the age of 54. His mother Gloria (GG) preceded him in death on November 22, 2012. His grandmother Icilda Thompson also preceded him in death in 2008.
Mildley is survived by his father Jules Baptiste (Amryl); 2 sisters, Yvette Ferguson Lynch (Carlos) and Keeba Baptiste Marks (Caleb); 2 brothers, Johnny Baptiste and Jamaal Baptiste; 2 nieces, Shaeini McClendon and Robin Jackson; 1 nephew, Cordell Ferguson (Keyana); several great nieces and great nephews; 3 aunts, Dorian Thompson-Barnes (Raphael), Ruby Barton, and Edris Davis; and 2 uncles Orville Thompson and Norbert Thompson (Rozlyn). Additionally, he is survived by several cousins and friends.
Special thank you and appreciation to Sueann Beecham for her dedication.
May his soul rest in peace.
