Michael Anthony Blackwell Jr., affectionately called 'Junior' and 'Mikey', was born to Michael Anthony Blackwell Sr. and Tanya Louise (Miller) Blackwell on January 24, 1994 in Flint, Michigan.
Junior was a gentle soul who never met a stranger. Always curious about the world around him, he never was afraid to ask questions or to strike up a conversation with anyone. Junior was gifted athletically and excelled at many sports including football, basketball and soccer. Junior attended school during his formative years in Flint, Michigan and later attended school in Chicago, Illinois, South Bend, Indiana and Indianapolis, Indiana. Junior was a star athlete and excelled as a varsity player of the football team as a wide receiver and running back during his time in Chicago, Illinois. He would later enjoy recreational basketball and soccer.
Junior fully embraced life and all it had to offer. He thoroughly enjoyed college football and was a huge University of Michigan Wolverines fan. Junior enjoyed being with family and ensured everyone knew it. He was very generous with his love and affection to all of his family members and always remembered to tell everyone he loved them.
Michael Anthony Blackwell Jr. transitioned from this life on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. He was preceded in transition by his maternal great-grandparents, Alma Lee Miller and Herbert Lee Miller; paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Green; Godmother, Charron Levicy; and his maternal grandmother, Peggy McNeal who affectionately called him 'pearly'.
Junior leaves to cherish his loving memories to his parents, Michael Anthony Blackwell Sr. and Tanya Louise Blackwell; brother, Daniel Blackwell; sister, Breanna Blackwell; grandparents, Vera Blackwell and Ronald Blackwell; favorite aunt, Sharon Walker; favorite cousins: Cierra Walker, Keturah Walker and Maria Walker and Godmother, Priscilla Akins Causey. Junior will also leave to cherish many, many family members and friends including his honorary 'brother' Donnie White and his honorary 'uncle' James Hollingsworth.
In lieu of flowers the Blackwell family would like a donation provided to the National Epilepsy Association and / or the Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance.
