Matthew S. Brown

Mr. Matthew S. Brown, age 65, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Matthew, 'Sonny' by some and 'Donny' to his sisters , was born September 26, 1950 to Ulysses and Mildred (Spivey) Brown in Walnut Grove, Mississippi. He and his family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana when he was young. He attended IPS Schools and graduated in 1969.

Matthew worked at Bakery and Confectionery for 25 years. He retired in 2005.

Matthew enjoyed watching movies, especially westerns and Bruce Lee flicks. He loved fast cars and cherished his 1973 Dodge Challenger. He adored his two cats, Tom and Elizabeth.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Ulysses Brown; mother, Mildred (Spivey) Brown and 2 brothers, J.C. Brown and Timothy Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory: 5 sisters, Mamie Mathis, Betty Brown, Mary-Ann (Calvin) Cannon, Sherry Johnson, and Jenny (Vincent) Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation, Wednesday, July 20th 11 am until 12 noon at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals, 5811 E. 38th Street-Interment-New Crown Cemetery.
