Mary Jane Strong, loving known as 'Jane' was born on
September 26, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Woodrow and Mary M. Strong.
Mary attended IPS Grade Schools and Arsenal Technical High School.
Although Mary was not a member of any particular church, she truly loved her Lord and Savior. She was a loving mother and grandmother as well as a good friend to many.
Mary worked various cleaning jobs as a supervisor. Her last job prior to retirement was at Indy Parks. She also worked for Kleaning King. Mary loved to clean!!
Mary loved being there for her family and her favorite nephew Dion, whom she called 'Smiley Face'. She was the life of the party and loved to dance, she also had a great sense of humor. She was a spirit full of joy and kindness and would help anyone. Mary had that electrifying smile that would lighten any room.
She loved cowboy movies, preparing meals during the holiday season for her family.
Mary fought her battle like a true warrior. She had the strength of the greatest fighter, exceeding 'all' expectations through many major life events. She fought to the end of her life, and she carried her last name 'Strong' well and didn't give up easily.
Mary had two loving and devoted daughters, Latasha A. Johnson, Michelle Y. Boyd and a precious love for her granddaughter Kiychele Boyd whom she called 'Stinky Bootie'.
Mary Jane departed this earthly life and started her heavenly life on Saturday, January 28, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Mary M. Strong, and Ulysses (Sweetpea) Lewis, Donald, Melvin and Willie D. Strong.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, La'Tasha A. Johnson and Michele Y. (Jamie) Boyd; one granddaughter, Kiychele L. Boyd; her sisters, Lucille Davis, Beverly A. Strong and Jeanette Strong; brothers, Arthur Collins, Woodrow (Kelly) Strong Jr. Carl D. Strong and Vincent Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
When we think about Mary Jane Strong, she is now at another celebration for eternity. Praise God and let us celebrate with her. To God be the Glory!
