Ms. Marvin Jean Scott, age 72, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016.Marvin Jean 'Bird' was born to Julius and Ira Lee Pittman Scott in Jericho, AK.She accepted Christ at an early age and was member of New Hope MBC in Springfield, IL.Marvin 'Bird' loved dancing and listening to music. She enjoyed sitting outside on a summer day and playing cards. She also loved being around the babies of the family and watching them grow. Family dinners on a Sunday were also one of her favorite things.She leaves to cherish fond memories; sister, Mary J. Scott, 9 nieces and nephews; Evelyn Ferguson, Sarah Scott, Ruthie Scott, Latanya Moncrief (Kevin), Dora Chestine, Blaine Scott, Kenya Owens (Eddie). She also leaves a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins to cherish and miss her.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Monday, February 29th from 11am until 12 Noon at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals 5811 East 38th Street. Funeral service will follow at Noon.
