Martha C. Mitchell

Dr. Martha C. Mitchell 91, of Indianapolis, transitioned into eternal peace on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Dr. Mitchell was a retired educator and founder of Building Blocks Academy and also one of the founders of the Indianapolis Black Alumni Council. She was a member of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, and a longtime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.Dr. Mitchell leaves to cherish her memory, two granddaughters, LaShawn E. Avant and Ayeesha T. Lewis (Darren); 3 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.Her service is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 at 12 Noon, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. - 12 Noon all at Phillips Temple C.M.E.
