Marlowe J. “Low” Offitt was born July 25, 1962 in Gallatin, TN to Louis T. (deceased) and Annie C. Offitt. After his birth the family moved from Tennessee to Indianapolis, Indiana.
Marlowe attended Indianapolis Public School # 69, 94 and Broad Ripple High School. He was a gifted artist who also loved fishing and music especially James Brown and Elvis Presley. He enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and Indy 500.
He and his siblings cherished memories of visiting the home & sitting on the porch of maternal grandmother Bessie Mae Turner “Gan” and great-grandfather Sam Turner “Daddy Sam” in Gallatin, TN.
Marlowe knew the Lord at an early age. As a young man, he accepted Christ and joined Second Christian Church, now Light of the World Christian Church.
As an adult, Marlowe returned to his hometown in Gallatin, TN and later resided in Murfreesboro TN before returning to Indianapolis.
On December 20, 2022 at the young age of 60, Marlowe departed this earth for his eternal home.
Marlowe was preceded in death by father, Louis T. Offitt; son Marlowe “Lowkey” Offitt; siblings: Denise, Tony and Louis “Chubby” Adams; devoted cousin Jackie Turner Head and maternal and fraternal grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Annie; siblings, Mark Offitt, Michelle “Sister” Offitt Allen (Royce), Michael Offitt, Marrier Burrow, Johnnie (Rosalyn) Adams; children, Daniel Whiteside, Marlon (Khara) Offitt and Mia Offitt; grandchildren, Myla “My My”, Messiah, Mali and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marlowe loved to socialize, joke and laugh. He never met a stranger. He was often referred to as a quiet, sweet man with a gentle spirit.
