Margo Denise Johnson was born on May 6, 1967 and transitioned to be with our Heavenly Father on April 1, 2023. Margo was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to her late parents Mary Elizabeth Freeman and Lawrence Henry Freeman Sr. She was one of eleven siblings: preceded in death by sisters Annette Freeman, Phyllis Scott, Hettie Mayes, and brothers Lawrence Henry Freeman Jr and Samuel Mason and survived by sisters, Tywana Walker, Deborah Carroll, Lillie Brown, and brother Anthony Freeman.
Margo spent her formative years in Indianapolis, attending Schools 51, 102, 103 and Perry Meridian High School. Margo had a hunger for knowledge, which led her to Ivy Tech Technical State College and IU School of Medicine where she received an A.S. in Allied Health and X-Ray studies and leaving with a B.S in Medical Imaging Technology, MRI/CT. She accomplished her education endeavors while working for the Federal Government for 30 years where she later retired from the United States Postal Service and VA Medical Center after 30 wonderful years. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and later became a member of New Zion Community Church.
Margo was a wonderful mother, wife and caregiver for her mother, children, family and loved ones. Margo was a lover of many things, including reading, sewing, being active and attending her favorite sporting, music and entertainment events. Margo was a travel and music enthusiast, she loved going to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Having played the clarinet for 9 years of her life and violin for 2 years. She was a musician by nature and had a love for all types of music no matter the genre.
Margo leaves to cherish her two loving daughters Amber Smith and Alyssa Johnson, step-daughter LaShawnda Johnson and five wonderful grandchildren, Eddriguez Smith and Eriean Smith, Anthony Grinston Jr. and Gianna Bongiovanni, and Emmett Harper. Her memory with also live on through her nieces, nephews, cousins and host of family and friends.
She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for her giving and loving spirit.
