Ms. Lovie Jean Jones-Steen was born on November 4, 1936, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the parents of Thomas Jones and Vannie Wilson.

Lovie attended Indianapolis public schools and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.

Lovie professed a hope in Jesus Christ and was later baptized at Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN.

Lovie was employed at Community Hospital and later retired after 30 years of employment.

Lovie loved her family and friends. She loved going fishing, playing cards, and going to the casino.

Lovie departed this life on Thursday, May 30^th, 2024, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Roy Lee Ware, two daughters, Joyce Ware and Faye Brown-Crenshaw. Brother, Virgil Manley, two sisters, Mazie Lee Wilson, and Thelma Young.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Eddie Doss and Donna Steen. Sister, Bennie Jean Wilson and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
