Ms. Lee Ethel Nickleson-Johnson

March 26, 1937 — July 7, 2016

Mrs. Lee Ethel Nickleson-Johnson, age 79, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016. She was born to Charlie Nickleson and Virginia Wesley Nickleson in Rosedale, Mississippi. She was the youngest of 9 children, at which she was affectionately known as 'Baby Sister'.

Lee attended and received her education in Rosedale, Mississippi. She professed an early love for Christ and was baptized in Rosedale, Mississippi. 'Baby Sister' later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she was united in Holy Matrimony to Jasper Johnson, III. To this union 7 children were born, 3 of which passed on prior to age 3.

'Baby Sister' later moved to Indianapolis. She was employed with Allison Transmission for over 20 years before retiring in 1989. Lee joined Indiana Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1980's. She served diligently in the choir, on the Usher Board, Pastor's Aide and kitchen auxiliaries until her health no longer allowed her to serve.

'Baby Sister' was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend to all. She enjoyed talking, baking, fishing, watching TV, going on 'bus trip' vacations. She made it her life's ministry to help and give all she could to her family, proving her unfading love.

'Baby Sister' leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved children: daughter; Brenda Harris, sons; Randell, Jasper, III (Jackie) and Anthony Adams, Sr., step-children: Shirley, Sheena, Evelyn (Jimmie), Amy (Kevin) and Tina; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, July 16th at 10am until service time of 12 noon at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1301 N. Goodlet Avenue. Interment will be in New Crown Cemetery.
