Deacon Lee A. Roberts Sr.

Deacon Lee A. Roberts Sr., the ninth child of eleven children, was born September 15, 1945 in Jackson, Mississippi to Buck Roberts and Viola (Stiles) Roberts.

He was a graduate of North Scott High School where he played sports. Later in life, Deacon Roberts moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he worked at State Life Insurance Company for 30 years, until retirement.

On October 10, 1969, Deacon Roberts was united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Jean (Johnson) Roberts and to their union four children were born.

He was a member of Temple of Believers where he served as a Deacon. Deacon Roberts loved to serve the Lord and led many people to Christ.

Deacon Roberts loved to watch Westerns. He also enjoyed fishing and he loved spending time with family and friends.

Deacon Lee A. Roberts Sr. departed this life on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the age of 77 years. His parents, Buck and Viola Roberts; wife, Betty J. Roberts; three sisters; three brothers; and a grandson, Jalen Roberts all preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Kimberly Roberts (Donnie) and April Roberts (Mike); two sons, Minister Lee Roberts Jr. (Jeanette) and Tyrone Roberts (Crystal); four sisters: Irma Peterson, Dorothy Langford, Etoy Roberts and Essie Lou Roberts; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
