Kevin A. Dunson

Kevin A. Dunson of Indianapolis, passed away on April 11, 2020 at the age of 60. Kevin was born on February 18, 1960 to the parents of Marion and Mary Dunson. He was baptized at St. Rita’s Catholic Church as a youth and attended school there. Kevin was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church.

One of the highlights of his childhood was spending time in Mississippi with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He called it his second home.

While attending high school at Scecina, he played basketball, ran track and was on the National Honor Society. Kevin graduated from Cathedral High School; he then went onto Indiana University to receive his BS degree in Criminal Justice. Kevin worked for the Internal Revenue Service, Hoosier Lottery and was the business owner of his Tax Service.

He loved being the big brother to Karla (Cee Cee) and Adrian (AD). Kevin was very devoted to his niece Kayla (Ms. K) and his nephews Zechariah and Zech Jr. (G-Dog and Little G).

While Kevin enjoyed sports, music, movies, camping, fishing, photography, reading, traveling and animals, he was most passionate about the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He attended the race for the past 27 years. If the opportunity had been there, he would have been a race car driver. Kevin never met a stranger; he had a gift of talking and such an infectious smile. Kevin truly loved the Lord and all of his friends.

Kevin was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Grace Gibson, Marion Sr and Elnora Dunson, his Aunts, Mary Ann Poindexter, Eleanor Herring and Anna Green and his uncle Philip Dunson.

Kevin leaves to cherish his memory to his parents, Marion and Mary Dunson, sister Karla Dunson, brother Adrian Dunson (Kimberly), niece Kayla Dunson, Nephews Zechariah McGill Sr. and Zechariah Jr. his aunts Betty Dykes (Curtis) Annette Lowe (Lydall), his uncle George Gibson (Brenda), Godparents Richard and Jackie Mack and Archie and Norma Park, and a host of family and friends
