Keith David Journey

Keith David Journey was the son of Gill Journey, Sr and Cindy Walker born on December 24, 1976, in Indianapolis.

Keith, affectionately known as Ink by his family and friends, was a talented athlete. He grew up in Brightwood and attended Perry Meridian Schools with his older brother Gill. He had an affinity for wrestling, but he most excelled in track and field. He was naturally gifted at one of the hardest events, the hurdles. He was a fi erce competitor who developed life long friendships and his memory lives on with his fellow teammates.

Keith gave his life to Christ at an early age. He attended the historic Bethel AME Church with his family.

Keith had a passion for his family and was a protector. He also had a beautiful smile that lit up the entire room. He was always well groomed and took pride in his personal appearance. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. People gravitated to him. He loved spending time on the porch with friends, in particular his neighbor Chad who was like a mentor to him. He was the unofficial mayor of the neighborhood and knew everybody and everybody knew him. He bonded with his stepfather Tyrone George and they spent countless hours talking, watching TV and doing projects around the house.

Keith is survived by his sons Keith Journey, Jr (Khalani and Kalaya) and Keon Journey (Keon Jr and K’Vone) and his daughter JeKeia (Dannie). He is also survived by his loving mother, Cindy Walker (Tyrone George) and brothers Gill Journey, Jr, Hank Journey, Terrell Journey, Antron Journey and Eddie Journey. Keith was preceded in death by his father, Gill Journey, Sr, and his grandparents, JB and Annabelle Walker.

Keith was deeply loved by his family and a host of friends. His presence brought joy to those around him, and he will truly be missed.
