Joyakeya "Keya" Overton

On Monday, September 16, 2019, Ms. Joyakeya Deidra “Keya” Overton was called home. Our Almighty Father sent a divine angel to usher her to her eternal resting place.

“Keya” was born August 10, 1976 in Indianapolis, Indiana where she continued to reside until her death. She attended St. Rita’s School and numerous IPS schools, until she graduated from Emmerich Manual High School.

“Keya” was employed by The Disney Store and My Neighbor’s Helper until health prevented her from working.

“Keya” loved people and having fun. Family gatherings were her favorite. She was the life of the party. She loved listening to music and most importantly, she loved her “Jaxx” (or her “TT Baby.”)

Joyakeya Deidra “Keya” Overton is survived by a son, Daquan Jayshon Bailey, and two daughters, Domini Kijine Bailey and Jayla Simone Overton; her mother Joyceann and brother, Donzay “Pierre” Cody; her niece Jaxx Lo’Nora Cody; her favorite aunts: Casssandra “Sandy” Overton (Fran) Scott, and Sherri Denise Overton (Larry Sr.) Cole and her uncle Wayne Overton; her “ride or die” cousins, Catheryne “Pinkey” Scott, Tineka “Shawn” Cole, Nekitta “Nikki” McClendon, Debra Fisher and Toi Cole, and a host of cousins, uncles, extended family and friends.
