John A. "Johnny" Gee was born on October 15,1958, to Prince Chisolm and Josephine Cole Smith, Johnny was the eleventh of fourteen children.
John: Life was a testament to love perseverance. He attended Indianapolis Public Schools and Thomas Howe High School. On January 1,1983 he married his beloved wife, Bertha Washington and together they raised three wonderful children and 12 grandchildren. For 41 years, Johnny shared an unbreakable bond with Bertha, filled with mutual respect and unwavering support. His gentle smile and kind demeanor touched the lives of many, reminding us of all that the quality of one's existence far exceeds the quantity of time one lives.
Johnny home was synonymous with joy and festivity. His love for family was evident in the way he turned every weekend into a celebration of togetherness. There was an open invitation to all-friends, family, strangers and neighbors knew that laughter and music would fill the air at Johnny's house.
John: Johnny’s siblings:
Mary, Brenda, Carrie, Alice, Joyce, Pamela, Rose, George, James, Lee, Lloyd, Vetchel, and Dwayne. Each remembers him not just as a brother but as a beacon of joy and kindness in their lives.
There were many wonderful aspects to Johnny's life and many ways that he touched our lives, he will be remembered as a wonderful father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and a great friend.
John, affectionately known as Johnny, passed away peacefully on April 7,2024 in his hometown of Indianapolis Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his mother Josephine Cole Smith, father Prince Chisolm, brothers Vetchel Gee and James Chisolm Sr. Sisters, Alice Woods, Pamela, Rose Gee and Carrie Stevenson
John: He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Bertha Gee, three children; Tywone Washington (Staci), Dewayne Gee (Nesi), John A Gee Jr. (Allante), siblings, five brothers; George Smith (Janice), James Smith (Pearlie), Lee Smith (Ruth), Lloyd Gee, Dewayne Gee (Tawona); three sisters Mary Figueroa, Brenda Chisolm, Joyce Gee, twelve grandchildren; Kiara Washington Jr, Zachariah Washington, Tywone Washington Jr, Jeremiah Washington, Deon Gee, De'Hayvan Gee, Da'Monii Gee, Da'Lanii, Ja'Cari, Amara, Ma'Layzia, Marlci
