John Earl Collier

Mr. John Earl Collier, age 66, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015.John was affectionately known as 'Big Casino', 'Cowboy', 'Oscar' and 'Daddy'. He was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi where he received his formal education. He later relocated to Indianapolis with his parents and continued his education in IPS, attending Shortridge High School.He attended church whenever possible and kept his family grounded in the Word. John never left Indianapolis, and built a family and established himself here. He was an ultimate provider for his family working various places such as Craywell Johnson Container, and most recently at Holiday Inn where he use his professional cooking skills. John truly enjoyed time spent with family and friends and had a fondness for life. He will truly be missed, but never forgotten.Family and Friends Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18th from 12 noon until service time of 1pm at Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals 5811 E. 38th Street. Funeral service will follow at Noon. Interment will be in Sutherland Park Cemetery.
