Jean Charlene Finn

Jean Charlene Finn, affectionately known as Bud, Charlene, Pumpkin, and TT, was born on February 23, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Martha Jean (Crabtree) Brown and Charles Finn, who both preceded her in death.

Jean attended Indianapolis Public Schools #10 and #87 before graduating from Crispus Attucks High School in 1973. She dedicated her life to education and service, working at Deluxe Printing before committing over 30 years to Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). After retiring from IPS, she poured her heart into caring for little ones at Mt. Zion Daycare, where she loved rocking babies and nurturing toddlers.

Jean was a faithful member of First Baptist Church North Indianapolis, until her health did allow her. She sang with the Young Adult Choir and Missionary Choir. She also shared her love for God by teaching Vacation Bible School, a role she cherished deeply. As one of the original members of Rodnie Bryant Christian Community Mass Choir her gift of music extended beyond her church walls. With the choir she was able to tour the country spreading the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jean departed this side of heaven on February 4, 2025, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 19 days, surrounded by her loving family. Her laughter will be deeply missed, as she had a unique way of giggling that was contagious. The sound of her joy would ripple through a room, creating an atmosphere of happiness and lightheartedness for everyone around her.

Jean leaves to cherish her brother, James (Francina) Wright, loving sister, Marzelia Broadnax, Nephew/son Aaron Bradley, Great Nephews/Grandsons Aavery and MJ. Her aunt Marjorie Robinson, whom she affectionately called “Grandma,” and her special Aunt Elizabeth Jones whom she called “Aunt Libby. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, loving friends, and her church family.

Her life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, her passion for music, and the countless lives she touched through her work and service.
