A Brief Sketch of Life
Mr. JB Walker, the son of late Eli Walker and Maud Walker, was born on October 02, 1926 in Mariana, Arkansas. He attended public school in Edmondson, Arkansas.
At an early age JB professed trust in Jesus Christ.
While in Arkansas, he met his life-long partner, Annabelle Thompson. They was married for over 40 years. In the 1940's they moved to Indianapolis, IN where they resided for over 50 years.
JB was initially employed at Bob Catterson Buick for a number of years. Thereafter he went on to work at the Indianapolis Public School Systems until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked for City Janitorial as a custodian for 20 years until his health began to fail.
JB was a devoted member of Bethel A.M.E. Church for many years where he worked on many auxiliaries.
JB was a 'straight shooter'. He was a no nonsense type of person who always had old time stories to tell. He had a passion for cars which included detailing, old schools, and an avid love for outdoor grilling. He loved to cook and will be long remember for the delicious meals he prepared occasionally for his family and friends. He loved to hang outdoors to plant his garden because his favorite thing to see was his vegetables come to life. He was a great provider and loved his family.
JB departed this life on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the age of 91 years. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Annabelle Walker, his daughters, Yvonne Denise Walker and Dena Sue Walker, and his son's - Patrick Henry Davis and Pastor Elder Leroy McDonald.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his two sons, Ervin Davis Jr. and Dewayne James Walker (Evelyn); his four daughters, Anna Darlene Walker (O.D.), Cindy Michelle Walker-George (Tyrone), Shelly Jean Tucker, and Janice Marie Walker, (31) grandchildren; (25) great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, numerous other relatives and friends.
He will be truly missed by all.
