77 years ago; on May8, 1939, JB Fields was born to RD and Mandy Lee Fields in Mason, TN. Hegraduated from Gailor Industrial High school in 1958. A few years later he was blessed with a babygirl, Paulette Garrett. Shortly afterward he met Joyce Ann Robinson. They weremarried December 10, 1962. There union was blessed with 3 children JacquelynFields McArthur, Betty Fields McFadden and Johnathan B. Fields Jr.
In 1967 the familymoved to Indianapolis, IN where JB worked proudly at Bemus Bag Inc. as a colortechnician in the mixing lab. When the manager would leave for business trips,it was JB who was asked to be the immediate supervisor in the interim until themanager returned. In the late 80s, Bemus Inc. transitioned out of the country.JB pursued many opportunities until he started his own company, A1 Pressure,where he pressure washed buildings and the like.
In 1973, JB married his second wife LulaPearl Baker of Anderson, IN. They lived happily on the city's west side in theHaughville area for over 20 years. They were married until she preceded him indeath in 2002.
JB attended theWalter Pearson's Revival Net 2004, where he was led to accept the AdventMessage and was baptized by his only son, Pastor Johnathan B. Fields Jr, intothe Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He faithfully attended the Haughville SDAPraise and Worship Center, where he was an honorary Deacon. It was not uncommonto walk into Sabbath School to see him up presenting special music in song. Heloved his church family with the Joy of the Lord.
On Monday, February6, 2017, JB was admitted to Eskenazi hospital where he was treated for internalinjuries. He underwent a successful surgery on Tuesday. However, second surgerywas attempted on Thursday where he succumbed to his injuries. He will always beloved and forever missed by his family and those he came in contact with.
He was preceded indeath by: his parents; 2 sisters, Johnny-Mae Fields and Mary Flowers; 3brothers, Freddie-Lee Flowers, James Grandberry and Hollis Hunt; and his wifeLula Fields.
He was survived by:his siblings Fannie Johnson (James), William Fields, Katherine Nelson, HarryFields, and Jesse Fields Ali (Eula); his children Paulette Garrett, JacquelynFields McArthur (William), Betty Fields McFadden (Clyde), Johnathan B. FieldsJr (Melody), James Fields, Tiffany Fields, and Dameion Thomas; hisgrandchildren Trumonikia Fields, Ilandia Johnson, Brittani Wilson (Tee), ShatalyaFields, Breona Everett, David Johnson, Dontez Willis, Jevon Turner(Precious),Justina Fields, Jordan Saunders, Jael Fields, Damion Jefferson, Olyvia Fields,Miya Fields, and Jamarea Fields; his great grandchildren Arrell Vaughn, ArmoniVaughn, Zarria Eldridge, A'Marria Burrell, and Zaya Eldridge; and a host ofnieces, nephews, family and friends.
His parting wordswere, 'The Lord knows the end result. And I put it in the Lord's hands.'
