James Dixon (Jimmy), son of the late James Dixon Sr and Thelma Belk was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 4th, 1949.
Jimmy Professed his love for Christ at an early age at Second Christian Church. He attended and played football at Shortridge High School. He was also the all-state running back of the year during his football career at Shortridge. On May 13, 1977, he married Tracye Dixon and had three children. One of Jimmy’s greatest accomplishments was being a father. He loved his children more than life and wouldn’t waste any opportunity telling anybody about them.
Jimmy worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years at Fridays where he was affectionately known as “Bubba”. Jimmy did not know a stranger. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. He loved to watch sports and was a Pacer and part time colts’ fan.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Wife, Tracye Dixon; Daughters: Courtney Scroggins (Ron) and Sonia Dixon. Son: James Dixon III (kristique). Brother; Paul Dixon (Brenda) and Sister Sharron Outlaw (Calvin). 11 Grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, family.
