James S. Flowers Jr., the son of James S. Flowers Sr. and MayDella (Cork) Flowers, was born July 31,1931 in Paducah Kentucky,
At an early age James Jr. along with his family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended and later graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1949.
“Jr.”, as he was lovingly called, professed a hope in the Lord at an early age and later united with Puritan Missionary Baptist Church.
Following high school, James Jr. enlisted in the United States Army. He then married Barbara Jean Davenport and from this union he was blessed with a daughter, Arben (Flowers) Chislom.
James Sanders Flowers Jr. departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the age of ninety-one years. His parents; sisters, Sadie Belle Milton (James) and Christine Hogan; brother, Robert Louis “Snazzy” Flowers; brother-in-law, Robert Hinkle; nephews, James S. Milton II, Robert H. Hinkle and Willie Mae Flowers; and niece Denise Hammonds, all preceded him in death.
“Jr.” leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Arben Chislom (Dexter); grandchildren: Michael Chislom (Tilisha), Melanie Chislom (Shaun), Nehemiah J. Griffin, Noah E. Griffin, Indea Chislom, Kayla Hubbard, Cylesa Calhoun and Cylea Calhoun; siblings: Mary Lou Hinkle, Lois Taylor (Todd), Linda Witted, Michael Hogan, DeWayne Duncan, Ondrea Hartley (Rob), Pastor Carl S. Blythe, Linda Spivey, Mary Moreland (Lawrence), Marsha J. Scott and Don Scott Jr; his loving life partner and her family: Charlotte Finch, James Finch (Jackie), Charlene Minor (Eric) and Monica Finch; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
