James Douglas Walker was born July 24, 1936, in West Point, Mississippi to James and Mary Ella Walker. James affectionately known to the family as “Pepper” was a dutiful husband, father, and grandfather. James was baptized at an early age. He was united in holy matrimony to Ella Byrd Walker from this union they had 3 children that would later bring a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his later years, James was pleasingly entertained by the time spent with his great-grandchildren.
James worked hard until his retirement from Link-Belt FMC. He spent his leisure time shooting pool or in a game of spades with family. He always enjoyed time with his family and friends and could talk endlessly once you’d get him started. He enjoyed being outside from planting his tomatoes to washing his truck; he always found a reason to step outside the house. If nothing else, you could find him in his garage listening to music with his Pepsi.
James leaves to cherish his memories with his children Barbara A. Walker, James L. Walker, Johnny A. Walker (DeLisa), his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Ella Walker, wife,Ella B. Walker .
Sisters Ateria Evan, Flora L. Nance, Queen E. Nance ,Callie L.Grice and Lillie Mae Lee. And his brother K.C. Walker.
