James Anthony 'Jd' Maxey

James Anthony Maxey III was born April 27, 1968 to Joyce Ann Maxey-Bailey (Robert Lee Bailey) and John Luther Jones, in Indianapolis, IN. James accepted Christ as his savior at a very young age and often attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. James later went on to attend Broad Ripple High School.

James was a loving, caring, and extremely protective husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and friend. James loved spending time with, and caring for his four children. His favorite past time included playing basketball with his son and watching movies and TV with his daughters. James enjoyed barbequing, listening to music, singing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He was always the life of the party; smiling, laughing, and making others feel loved and welcomed.

James departed this life on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 49 to be with his Heavenly Father. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Ann Maxey-Bailey and his eldest son Isaiah Jashon Maxey.

James leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Shontel L. Maxey; his four loving children, Sharmaine Hopkins (Tyler Hopkins), Stephanie Miller, Camille Maxey, and Cameron Maxey; brother, Jeffery Maxey; sisters: Dorothy and Denise Maxey, Thundalaya and Christine Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
