James Albert Holmes also known as Jammin’ Jimmy James was born on March 2, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Paul J. Sr. and Vernita Holmes. He was the fourth of nine children to this union. He departed from this life on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the age of 69.
James accepted Christ at an early age, he confessed to Jesus Christ during his illness in the hospital.
James received his primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public School System. He attended Indianapolis Public School 101 and Arsenal Technical High School. He worked at several places of employment, but his last employment was with Goodwill Industries.
James was united in matrimony to Shirley A. Bellamy on July 1, 1972. To this union two daughters were born, Nicole and Angela. He was a Son, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle. James loved to share a laugh and good times with others. He enjoyed basketball, fishing, and socializing.
James was proceeded in death by his father, Paul J. Holmes Sr., mother Vernita Holmes, and sister Shirley J. Soules.
James is survived by Daughters Nicole E. Weatherall, Angela M. Hardister (Gerald); Grandchildren JaQuincy L. Weatherall, CarmelDeLisa D. Weatherall, and Gerald E. Hardister Jr.; Brothers, Paul J. Holmes Jr, Jerry Holmes, Michael E. Holmes (Debora); Sisters Linda Holmes, Paulette Holmes, Tryphena E. Fields, and Mary E. Muhammad (Keith); many relatives; a special companion, Ms. Brenda Davis; and many other friends.
